DefLog VQ Trust Limited
In its last year of operation, DefLog VQ Trust Limited approached the RAF Benevolent Fund, seeking to provide a significant contribution to support ex-serving personnel pursuing training and employment, and older veterans and dependants experiencing hardship.
The Trustees of DefLog VQ Trust Limited, very generously presented a cheque for £500,000 to the charity at the Royal Air Force Club in September 2016. Everyone at the RAF Benevolent Fund is proud to have received such a generous grant for its work on behalf of the RAF Family. The support has been used across a breadth of welfare, in accordance with the Trust's objects.
The Thales Charitable Trust
Through its longstanding association with the RAF Benevolent Fund, The Thales Charitable Trust has donated unrestricted funding, year in year out, in total contributing more than £80,000. As the RAF's leading welfare charity, we very much appreciate the Trustees' generosity in support of the RAF Family.
Through their regular support, given in addition to Thales UK's sponsorship, we are able to plan ahead and meet the needs of the entire RAF Family. The Trust is helping to ensure that we remain flexible in our response to evolving needs, providing support wherever needed.
The Mackintosh Foundation
Squadron Leader Cameron Mackintosh died on 17 June 1943, aged just 29, after his Lancaster aircraft was shot down over Belgium. In his memory, The Mackintosh Foundation is continuing its support of the RAF Benevolent Fund with a three-year donation.
Because the Trustees want to support wounded, injured and sick RAF veterans, their grant of £15,000 is being used to adapt properties lived in by ex-RAF with physical disabilities. The Mackintosh Foundation's support is helping people suffering from today's scars of combat.
